Scrin

Keep writing this November. Scrin keeps the rest.

Scrin is a home where pages grow into books. If this is the month you give a novel a go, move in: it opens in your browser, no account, nothing to install, and works offline after the first visit.

Open Scrin

The first month is free, and however early you open it, it doesn't end before November 30.

Start before the title

Open Scrin and the first page is there, waiting. Let a line out; name it later, or never. It grows into a scene, the scene into a chapter, and the plan shows where things stand when you want to look.

Novel, essay, screenplay, a long piece: the page doesn't ask which. Pair your phone once, and the line you caught in the queue is waiting at your desk.

The month's counter

Click the counter, set a goal and a date, say 50,000 by November 30, and it tells you what that asks of each day. Hover it for the month so far: words typed against 50,000, days written, your streak and your record.

Only what you type in Scrin counts. A draft brought in from elsewhere, chapters and scenes intact, stays out of the number.

And the rest

Bring in the draft you have: a .scriv folder, a .docx, Markdown and more, chapters and scenes as they were.

Take it out whenever you like, as Markdown, .docx, EPUB, HTML or PDF when you print; a plain-text copy is saved every day.

When a chapter is ready for a reader, make a link in their name: it opens in any browser, no account, and their notes stay on the passage.

See you on page one.
